One of the biggest things I’ve learned from last year is to appreciate everything in this beautiful world especially in science, even things I’ve considered as “tiny” and “obvious” because I rekon that behind everything, there is a process of a lot of works as well as obstacles and overcoming, difficulties and discoveries, exhausted and “eureka” moments.

To my supervisor Dr. GON, it’s very hard to find the words to express my appreciation for what you’ve done for me. In the future, I will try to help people around me with all my heart and can think proudly “I’ve learned that from my dear supervisor, who does that in very great and encouraging way to me”. I am so lucky to have you as my supervisor, colleague and friend, thank you so so much for the guides, the discussions, for keeping me in right tracks and for many great, joyful scientific moments I’ve got during the project.

A big thank to all members of the FAB and ORU family at CHW, to Je, La, Sc, Mo for helping me and encouraging me all the time, to Ga for so interesting discussions, to Sa for giving me your baby cells (so cute babies), to Je, Th, and St for being around me with music and funny chat ‘till late. A special thank to Prof. PG for being a really nice and warm big boss, to Ja who is very busy but still have time to help me.

At the uni, I’d like to thank Dr. PP- the man with a big heart, for the care and patience you gave me during the year. Thanks my co-supervisor Dr. MJ and all nice and friendly staff for the whole year I had at UWS.

I also would like to say thank you very much to my former supervisor Dr. S P for helping me to have a great chance to work with GON, you are the first person letting me know that science is hard, challenged but very glorious.

Many thanks to my classmates, my friends around, my fellows at the part-time work and all people I don’t know in the train, down the street… for sometimes driving me mad but always making this country to be really friendly, warm and cool place to live.

A special thought for my family, my Mum, my Dad, my brothers, sisters, nephews and little niece, my cousins, family is always the place I can come back whenever I feel life’s hard; to recharge my energy and be ready for the next journey.
