The Movie "ME THAO: ONCE UPON A TIME"

Dear Jean,
To help people fully understand the history of the Vietnam War, please motivate them, specially young Americans to go to the "Camera 12 Cinema" at 201 S. Second St. San Jose (Phone 408-998-3300) to watch the above movie.
It's Vietnamese, with English subtitles
Showtimes: Daily at 2:45, 5;00, 7:15, 9:30 plus Friday-Sun at 12 Noon.

It is a hiding story from the Vietnamese writers and artists under Ho Chi Minh's regime, they wanted to show how Ho Chi Minh (Mr. Nguyen in the film), the ruler forcing his peasants to make a great leap backward in the name of "fighting French for the National Independence". Finally, the peasants were happier living under French colonization than under Mr. Nguyen's (Nguyen Ai Quoc=Ho Chi Minh).

Ho Chi Minh was the pseudonym adopted by Nguyen Ai Quoc, the mysterious but well-known "father of the Vietnamese Communist Party". Nguyen also was co-founder of the French Communist Party (FCP) since 1920.
Nguyen was a third World Communist Party agent who founded the Indochinese Communist Party (ICP) from 1931 to 1946 acted as nationalists aiming solely at the liquidation of French colonial rule. (Three countries form Indochina: Vietnam, Lao, and Cambodia). From 1946 to 1950, the ICP changed its name to the Vietnamese Communist Party (VCP)
Watching the "Me Thao", audience will see the Vietnamese peasants love Me Thao--the name of their native land, wanted to protect the country from French; but they didn't love Communism--because they were suffered the most under Mr. Nguyen's love. The film shows Me Thao people were smiling, dancing, laughing under the French rule while they were forced to work very hard for Lord Nguyen for nothing in return.
This movie is to prove: in order to cheat and force the Vietnamese peasants to fight against the French for Ho's Communism cause, Ho Chi Minh had to declare the Vietnamese Communist Party (VCP) voluntarily disbanded in 1950 (to go underground) and emerged in 1951 under the new name "Labor Party" (Dang Lao Dong) until the fall of Saigon in 1975, the "Lao Dong" then dropped its bloody mask, resumed its role as a USSR's loyal servant until the present time.

Actress Jane Fonda addressed U.S flyers and airmen in 1972:
"This is Jane Fonda in Hanoi. I'm speaking to the men in the cockpits of the Phantom, in the B-52's. those of you who are still here fighting the war, on the ground…If you new the Vietnamese under peaceful conditions, you would hate the men who are sending you on bombing missions…"
And she condemned President Nixon was a liar. Mrs. Fonda should see the "ME THAO" to know "who is really a lie?" Because the Vietnamese people living under Communist regime since 1945 were constantly at war, physically or mentally. They are never at peace at all, event now, 2005, after 30 years of "peace".
Jane Fonda also talked with South Vietnamese students form Hanoi radio:
"I am very honored to be a guest in your country, and I loudly condemn the crimes that have been committed by the U.S Government in the name of the American people against your country"
" We have understood that we have a common enemy-U.S. imperialism."
With such propaganda weapons to kill and with the book "My Life, So Far" published in April 2005, she overkills the Vietnam War's rightness, she destroys the U.S history. Yet, she is not a traitor, but one of the "100 years of Great Women".

Jane Fonda and her ex-husband Tom Hayden, also Senator John Kerry had tried so hard to work on the so-called the "Indochinese Peace Campaign" (IPC) to urge the U.S. troops to withdraw immediately, left millions of innocent Cambodians were killed by Pol-Pot in April 1975. The anti-war politicians' hands got the blood of millions of Indochinese.

The actor Don Duong who has been celebrity in Vietnam until he filmed "We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson" then he was condemned by the Vietnamese Communist government as a traitor and expelled from the country.

So, with actor Don Duong's discrimination, American politicians should know that the Vietnamese Communist Party cruelty, oppression of freedom of speech has remained the same since Ho Chi Minh created the so called Democratic Republic in North Vietnam 60 years ago (Sept. 2, 1945).

The VCP makes a change only to court the U.S dollars, not to truthfully for the religious freedom and human rights for 80 millions people.
Please come to the Me Thao: Once Upon A Time to know that the U.S. was Vietnamese people's savior in Vietnam War.

This has proved these verses by the Poet Nguyen Chi Thien in his "The Flowers Of Hell" is historically true when he metaphorses communism into a RED, barbaric Snake:

"Of this extraordinarily snake.
Born and grow up through evil instigation
Spitting the venom of hatred and using elaborate flattery
It artfully takes advantage of our blind patriotism
Playing the shamesless prostitute to China& Russia
Once equipped, it shows how treacherous it can be
Raising its head, whistling, barbarously
Bitting the common people's necks, throwing pell-mell the ancestral graves
Ruining religion& mortality, slurping dry stream!
Even the French whom people did not spare their lives to fight and evict
Are now regretted beyond measure
Thanks to the canine work of these beasts
Which now makes the colonial period look idyllic!
The cheated patriotism was still lying there frustrated
When the diabolical Party was already up for something!
(The Flowers of Hell, p. 49, by Nguyen Chi Thien)

Besides actor Don Duong, Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, a reporter with the Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, was prosecuted on January 6, 2005 for "appropriating, trading and destroying national confident documents". The indictment stems specifically from a May 2004 article by Lan Anh in which she quotes a document submitted by the Health Ministry to the Prime Minister.

Lan Anh wrote that the pharmaceutical company's monopoly on the market of certain medicines in Vietnam had been driving up drug prices to "unacceptable levels."
Zuelling Pharma Vietnam, a subsidiary of Zuelling Pharma Singapore, was the monopoly distributor of certain imported medicines to Vietnam between 2001 and September 2004. The company, which held a 26 per cent market share, had increased the price of its medicines by between 12 and 60 per
cent each year. In February 2004, the company signed a commitment with the Health Ministry to stabilize its prices, but the Vietnamese government allowed Zuellig's import contract to expire in September 2004. Last May, Anh reported on a document in which the minister of health requested the prime minister to assign the Ministry of Planning and Investment to inspect and examine the activities of Zuelling Pharma Vietnam. Two other newspapers, Nhan Dan (People) and Lao Dong (Labor), also reported the news on the same day but their reporters were not prosecuted, because the Communist Party just wanted print the news to release the strong feeling of the people's anger.

Only Lan Anh who pushed the same issue to the end for the poor's shake, exactly what the Communist's government logo, to be "a government from the poor, for the poor…" . But she was punished for ""appropriating state secrets"
On January 18, 2005, the Committee to Protect Journalists in New York condemns the indictment of Nguyen Thi Lan Anh.
"Lan Anh's strong investigative journalism, which brought attention to an issue of great concern to the Vietnamese public, should be welcomed by authorities who have paid lip service to the important role of the press in Vietnamese society," said CPJ Executive Director Ann Cooper. "We call on authorities to drop all charges against Lan Anh and allow her to continue her work." While she has not been officially arrested, Lan Anh has been ordered not to leave her home in Hanoi.

Tuoi Tre (Youth) is a popular daily that has a large circulation in Vietnam. It is owned by the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union, an organization under the direct management of the Vietnamese Communist Party. Be aware that in Vietnam under Ho Chi Minh and his followers' reign, there have only state-run newspapers and companies.
Legal actions against Lan Anh come amid a government drive to further restrict online and print journalism in Vietnam. On orders from the Ministry of Culture and Information, the popular news Web site Tintucvietnam.com was also shut down in January 2005 after posting uncensored letters from readers. Truong Dinh Anh, the editor-in-chief of another Web site, VNExpress.com, was fired in November after posting readers' angry comments regarding the government's purchase of a legion of 60 Mercedes Benz cars for the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) held in Hanoi in October 2004. (After the ASEM, the top Communist Party members were the buyers of those luxury cars with very low tax).

Those are most recent viable evidences to show how much Vietnamese people suffer from a constant famine under Ho Chi Minh and his followers’ reign. In those good 60 years (1945-2005), they were hungry not just physically, but mentally: hunger of freedom.

Consider, in America, people take freedom for granted. Freedom has been abused.

In June 1971, The New York Times began publishing articles based on secret government documents-the Pentagon Papers. Daniel Ellsberg, a Pentagon insider and ex-marine who had been one of the author of the documents, had spent months copying and smuggling out seven thousand pages of sensitive document relating to the war from the four U.S. presidents and their administration over twenty-three years-- as Ellsberg wrote in his 2002 book, "Secrets" . Even Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, when he read the study he had commissioned, said to friend: "You know they could hang people for what's in there." (My Life, So Far, by Jane Fonda,p. 272)

President Nixon's Justice department issued an injunction against the New York Times, ordering the paper to stop publication the Ministry of Defense documents, but the Supreme Court ruled that the paper could continue publishing the articles.

As a Vietnamese-American, I find myself offended when reading Jane Fonda-- and the likes-idolizes Ho Chi Minh as George Washington of the Vietnamese in her book, page 198. George Washington never built the country with many guillotines to kill thoughts and trample on people human rights as Vietnamese Communists have done since 1945.

Please come to see the movie ME THAO, to know why the American troops involved in the Southeast Asia, to appreciate what you have in the United States and be thankful for all Americans who died to preserve freedom for 80 millions of Vietnamese people. Remember, the Americans didn't start the war. Ho Chi Minh did to his own people. He ordered the killing of innocent people to pave the way for socialism.

Until now, some of the anti-war figure as John Kerry, Jane Fonda ..are still writing book to praise the Viet Cong and denounce America (I will analyze more about their books next time). Right this moment, please see the Movie and be aware of the RED SNAKE, never ever trust them, they are terrorists.

Poet Nguyen Chi Thien points the finger at them:

You can go ahead with quoteing Ly, Le, Tran sources
The people have grown tired of revolutionary war, that joke!
Which only bring them mourning bands and crutches
And takes away from them light and life
The Party orders silence, talk, cry, laugh
Go hungry and word hard-if a complaint as much as leaks out
Then you are up for rotting in jail, arbitrariness:
It is the reward in tears, blood, sweat
That one gets for the thousands of days spent fighting the French?
With all your dirty tricks and cheap schemes
The people has had more experience than it needs
Your amulets and magic no longer work…"
The Flowers of Hell, p. 49, by Nguyen Chi Thien)

And THANK YOU, AMERICA! GOD BLESS YOU ALL
KIM ANH NGUYEN
